Afro-American Postal History, collection of 33 different illustrated covers showing a remarkable range of black caricatures, from the Civil War to the Depression, includes several Union caricatures (including one used in 1880s), advertising including sheet music, a fertilizer co. with a striking litho of slaves picking cotton, multicolor Duluth Imperial flour, beautiful group of Gold Dust Twins ads (all different) including. #269 pair, #307 registered and great all-over Wright Bros. caricature, Aunt Jemima and a taxi ad utilizing Amos & Andy; faults when present are usually confined to small edge tears, etc., Fine or better, a difficult group to assemble with ample room for expansion and informed writing.

1863, 2¢ black (73), Fine single tied by target and double circle "Flushing, N.Y. Apr 9, 64" c.d.s. on all-over illustrated advertising cover from the American Agriculturist, addressed to Mt. Joy, Pa., design includes a boxed element for placing the stamp; cover with small mended edge tear above the stamp not noted on the certificate, still fresh and Extremely Fine, one of the most visually appealing all-over advertising covers of the period.
