Justice Dept., 1873, 30¢ purple, double transfer (033 var), doubling of the top frame line, rich color, Fine o.g.; accompanied by a top row O33P3 block of four with the double transfer of the top frame line in the top two positions. Fine.

The 30¢ Justice exhibits the double transfer in several positions on the top row and bottom row of the plate. The only recorded mint block of four exhibits the variety from the bottom row (see lot 1692).

Justice Dept., 1873, 5 different production varieties, comprises unused 6¢ with improper plate wiping, unused 6¢ with shaded upper lip, used 3¢ and 15¢ with a stitch watermark, and a mint o.g. 10¢ with full offset on gum. Couple trivial faults. F.-V.F.
