San Francisco, Cal., registry label with sheet margin selvage on cover from Brigham, Utah to Taiohae, Nukuhiva, Marquesas Islands (now French Polynesia), franked with pen-cancelled 8¢ violet brown and 10¢ orange brown (272, 282C), manuscript "Via San Francisco and New Zealand", purple "Brigham, Utah Jul 9, 1900" boxed postmark, San Francisco and Papeete, Tahiti backstamps, Very Fine and exceedingly rare destination.

Nukahiva Island, a small speck in the South Pacific, was surely the recipient of very little registered mail. The return address suggests the recipient was a Mormon Missionary.

Seattle,Wash., registry label on 2¢ entire from Seattle to Kobe, Japan, additionally franked with 1¢ 2¢ and 10¢ Washington-Franklins tied by poorly struck Seattle double ovals, Seattle registry postmarked Dec 21, 1909, the cover was undeliverable and returned to sender, multiple auxiliary markings and c.d.s.s and a total of 16 Japanese reporting labels documenting failed delivery attempts; thick contents and extensive handling have resulted in the cover and stamps being rather beat up, but still a Fine and unique example of Japanese post office thoroughness.
