Boston "Eagle and thunderbolts" machine cancel, Jan 2, 1895, beautiful strike ties 2¢ postmark (248) on piece, a choice Extremely Fine example. This experimental cancel was used only on this day. Approximately 10,000 pieces of mail were cancelled along with a similar number cancelled.
