CSA Official Business, Inspector General's Office, Trans-Mississippi Department imprint envelope directed to Brig. Gen. James E. Slaighter, Chief of Staff, District Tex. at Houston, carried by military carrier, cover was turned with CSA 10¢ (11c) tied by "Austin Tex. Feb 22 (1865)" c.d.s., addressed back to the Ins. Gen. T.M.D., Shreveport, La., with manuscript "rec'd", backflap replaced and minor ink erosion, otherwise Very Fine.

The quake and fires took place from April 18 to 20.

Pike's Peak, Colorado, unusual early 20th century group of 50 illustrated postcards and two fold-out souvenirs containing ten different images telling the story of Pike's Peak, 26 unused and 26 used, a number of the cards were mailed from the rock house at the summit of the peak (altitude 14,147 feet), a cog wheel train began carrying tourists to the summit starting around 1892, Very Fine and interesting group.
