1847, 5¢ Franklin, two bank notes printed by Rawdon, Wright, Hatch and Edson utilizing the Franklin portrait that was later modified for the 5¢ stamp. The first is a $3 note issued in 1837 for The Bank of Manchester (Mich.) is F-VF circulated condition; the second on an unissued $5 note for the Canal & Banking Co. of New Orleans with mild toning but uncirculated. Nice collateral material.

1851, 1¢ Franklin and 3¢ Washington, unissued $10 bank note for the Canal Bank of New Orleans printed by Toppan, Carpenter & Co. utilizing the same portraits that were used for the vignettes of the 1851 postage stamps. Also "Schernikow" die essays of the two vignettes, 63-E1a (ultramarine) and 65-E1a (dusky olive). the note is toned but is otherwise uncirculated, the proofs are Very Fine.
