Scott $190 ++

AN EXTRAORDINARY EXAMPLE OF THIS UNUSUAL SPECIALIST VARIETY — THE ONLY ONE CERTIFIED AS SUCH BY THE PHILATELIC FOUNDATION.

Expertization: 2006 P.F. Certificate.

The break in the bottom frameline exists in the original entry of position 1R1E onto the plate; it is not a "transitional" position that evolved from a type II into a type IIIA as the plate wore. Technically, it could be classed as a type IIIA, though not considered so by Ashbrook nor any of his successors. The bottom line was strongly recut on the late state of the plate.
