Feb 12 1909" machine cancellation on cover to Philadelphia Pa., forwarded locally with "Philadelphia Pa Feb 13 1909" machine cancellation; small sealed cover tear, reduced slightly at left, Fine.

ONE OF ONLY TWO RECORDED PRIVATELY PERFORATED 2¢ LINCOLN FIRST DAY COVERS.

The Colby & Drummond census lists only two privately perforated Lincoln first day covers. There is also one recorded imperforate first day cover from Manistee Mich. Additionally there are four others from Canton Ohio that are questioned by experts as being legitimate 2¢ Lincoln imperforate first day covers because they may have been favor backdated.
