THE EARLIEST OF ONLY FOUR DOCUMENTED USAGES OF THE 1870 90¢ UNGRILLED.

Expertization: 2006 P.F. Certificate.

This amazing document was discovered only last year and this will be the first public offering at auction. It is a performance bond for a county tax collector. Effective August 1, 1864 the revenue tax on these was a flat fee of $1 through October 1, 1872, when it was repealed. There are no other documents from the 1862-72 documentary tax era bearing a 90¢ postage stamp of any issue for revenue purposes.
