2d vermilion perf 10 x 12½ and 6d pale blue perf 12½ (SG 130, 136), tied by Invercargill "S" duplex on 1872 (16 Jan.) envelope to Harbour Grace, Newfoundland (20.4) "via San Francisco" and St. John (20.4), small piece of cover and back flap missing at top left, Very Fine mixed perf franking at the 8d rate to Newfoundland via San Francisco, carried on the 10th trip of the New Zealand and Australia Mail Steamship Line "Nebraska" which left Auckland on 26 January.
