Tobago, 1892 (25 Jul.) Inland usage to Scarborough, 1892 ½d on 1½d post card cancelled type K3 "14" numeral, datelined 25 July, addressed to "the Park, Scarboro" with Tobago "A" receiver the next day; nicked lower corners, Fine and rare postmark.
Estimate 750 - 1,000

The numeral "14" was employed from February of 1892 until August of 1895 along the Scarborough-Roxborough mail route.

Tobago, 1838 (28 Feb.) Buckingham Palace, London to Tobago, diplomatic letter (split at fold for exhibit) showing Royal Seal (wax removed) and "Victoria R" signature, it reads "Major General Henry Charles Darling…to appoint you to be Lieutenant Governor of our Island Tobago in America…Given at our Court at Buckingham Palace, this 28th day of February, 1838 in the First Year of our Reign", outer leaf with "Tobago, Recorded 21st April, 1838", accompanied by 1817 (9 Jul.) official local letter from Sir Frederick P. Robinson, K.C.B., Governor of Tobago, to the House of Assembly concerning maintenance and supply problems at Government House near Scarborough, Fine and rare official mail.

Tobago, 1856, 6d lilac, on 1858 entire to London lacking both "A14" type K1 obliterator and Tobago double-arc backstamp, endorsed "Per Packet", stamp cancelled upon arrival with black London Foreign Branch diamond numeral "51" arrival obliterator, red London (20.11) backstamp, Very Fine and rare use. SG Z3.

This entire is from the well-known correspondence from Tobago to George Chambers at London. It was mailed from Trinidad during the period of compuslory postage prepayment between B.W.I. and the United Kingdom.

Tobago, 1856, 6d lilac (16a), envelope bearing six 1882 1d Venetian red vertical bisects (including two unsevered pairs) tied by "A14" cancels, Tobago c.d.s. with sideways "C" index letter, Trinidad receiver (3.3) along side; light horizontal file fold not affecting stamps, Fine to Very Fine. 2½d Inter-colonial letter rate overpaid by ½d. SG 15a.

Tobago, 1897 (3 Sep.) Official cover Scarborough to Canada, unfranked envelope endorsed "Ernest C. Sealey, Postmaster of Tobago", postmarked Tobago inverted "A" c.d.s., sent registered, with large "R" handstamp, red manuscript "Via Trinidad" in Sealey's hand, Port of Spain "Registration B" c.d.s. (16.9- nearly two week delay), purple manuscript registration no. 6910 changed to "6913" due to delay, sealed with plate number selvage from a 4d definitive, multiple Canadian backstamps including Amherstburg receiver (11.10); Fine to Very Fine and quite possibly unique.
