Andrew Johnson (1808-1875), 17th President of the U.S. (1865-1869), Vice President under Lincoln (1865); U.S. Representative from Tennessee (1843-1853); Governor of Tennessee (1853-57, 1862-65); U.S. Senator from Tennessee (1857-62, 1875), the only Southern Senator not to resign and join the Confederacy. Autograph Endorsement Signed as Senator from Tenn. on an envelope addressed to him in Washington, Johnson has written: "The early attention of the Dept [probably the War Dept.] to this will much oblige- And Johnson", the cover is postmarked "West Point, N.Y., Jun 22, 1860", Very Fine.

Free Frank "A. Lincoln" as President on legal-size "From the President of the United States" imprint cover to Springfield Ill., imprint with "Priv. Sec." crossed out in Lincoln's hand, addressed in Mary Todd Lincoln's hand to Mrs. James Sprigg (first name changed to John) and with "Mrs. Lincoln" at bottom left also in her hand, bold "Washington D.C. May 17 1862" double-circle datestamp; slightly reduced at right, some overall soiling and wear, vertical file fold slightly affects signature, still Very Fine appearing.

Expertization: 2006 P.S.A. Certificate of Authenticity.

This letter was sent from Mary Todd Lincoln to her neighbor Julia Sprigg in Springfield, Ill. There may be only one other example signed by Mrs. Lincoln and free franked by her husband Abraham Lincoln as president.

Truman, Harry S. (1884-1972), 33rd President of the United States, ordered the atomic bomb drop on Hiroshima and Nagaski, won UN approval to expel North Korean troops from South Korea, Vice President 1945.

DS as president, 8½ x 13½" partly-printed document, Washington, June 22, 1950, 2pp., pardon for Sidney M. Feldman of Amryland, convicted of violating Sect. 338, Title 18 of the U.S. Code and sentenced to pay a $2,000 fine in 1943. signed also by Attorney General J. Howrd McGrath, red Justice Department seal, Very Fine, a scarce Truman pardon.
