Metropolitan Errand and Carrier Express Co., 1855, 1¢ red orange (107L1), cut to shape, tied by "Paid" framed handstamp on to-the-mails cover to Wethersfield, Conn., used with 1851 3¢ dull red (11), both tied by "New York May 13" c.d.s., reverse with "A.M. Hinkley & Cos., Express, New York." oval handstamp; cover edge tear, stamps oxidized, Fine and rare. Ex-Abt, Golden.
