1852-56, 3¢ types I/II (11/11A), partial reconstructions, primarily plate 1L (about 90 positions), plate 2L (105) and plate 3 (170); there are more than 20 pairs and two strips of 3 (a few of which duplicate singles); also more than 65 sheet margins including 11 with corner margins, 18 with centerlines and 8 with partial imprints; also includes about 30 from plate 4 and 20 from plate 5L; well over 425 stamps in all. Condition is very mixed and there aren't many 4-margin copies, but the majority are Fine or better and there are plenty of useful stamps including nice "line through Three Cents" and "5 lines recut UL triangle"; positions, which have all been penciled on the backs in various hands—many by Chase— cannot be guaranteed. A very good start on this popular specialty.
