Hawaii "Late Letter Mail/ Honolulu", Very Fine strike on cover to New Orleans, La., 1 Jun 1885; franked with two 5¢ ultramarine (39) target canceled; backstamped San Francisco (8 Jun) and New Orleans (13 Jun); one stamp damaged, cover opened roughly at right, Fine and exceedingly rare. Gregory rarity factor 1RRR, precedes by two weeks the previous earliest recorded usage (15 Jun), and the only recorded use to the U.S..

Hawaii Envelope, 1884, 4¢ red, blue inside (U7), used with a 2¢ rose (43) to Bouchout, Belgium; postmarked clear blue Koloa, Kauai c.d.s., May 12, 1893, with Honolulu transit (14 May), San Francisco, New York and Belgium backstamps; the 2¢ adhesive has been replaced, but otherwise a Very Fine and extremely rare usage.
