Pacific R.R., May 24" c.d.s. and addressed to Concord, Mass.; flap mended and reattached, 1869 pencil note on reverse; Very Fine appearance. UPSS 127.
Estimate $300 - 400
This cover was mailed only 12 days after the Trans-Continental railroad was completed. This was possibly carried on the first through trip from West to East. It was carried by Wells Fargo from Eureka to Oakland, where placed on a Central Pacific train and carried by rail all the way to the East Coast.
