AN AMAZING GEM, THE ONLY EXAMPLE CERTIFIED BY THE P.F. AS NEVER HINGED AND WITH FULL MARGINS, GREAT COLOR AND NO FAULTS OR DISTRACTIONS. THE PREVIOUS TIME THIS WAS FOR SALE (A 2004 AUCTION), THE DESCRIBER STATED "ARGUABLY THE FINEST MINT SINGLE IN EXISTENCE IN TERMS OF OVERALL QUALITY". WE COMPLETELY AGREE.

Expertization: 2003 P.F. Certificate.

One other example was certified by the PF as "Genuine", which only implied NH.

1847, 10¢ black (2), four clear to very large margins, particularly rich unblemished color and a razor-sharp impression on fresh paper that still retains its original bluing, tiny tear in the top margin only, which could easily be removed still leaving a clear margin, otherwise nearly Very Fine, an affordable example of a stamp that remains on virtually every mint collector's want list.
