Gen. to His Excellency John Hancock Governor and Commander in Chief of the Commonwealth Massachusetts, 18" x 14", containing a detailed listing of all the ammunition, guns, canons, etc. being returned, some splits along folds, scattered toning, VG.

1864 Gold Mining Bill of Sale, datelined "Pine Grove (Cal.) May 11th, 1864", on three pages, attached at top, various First Issue perforated issues including large multiples of 5¢ inland Exchange (bottom sheet margin of 15 and single), 10¢ Contract (block of 30, block of 15), 25¢ Certificate (3 pairs and 4 singles), 50¢ Conveyance (pair and single), additional 50¢ missing, contents include. "mining claim known as forty and the lower half of 41 together with the house I now occupy and the sluices, mining implements and the profits to accrue. two thousand five hundred dollars down on the receipt which is herby acknowledged and five hundred dollars each week. this instrument to be held as lien. the title of the afore mentioned claims I will guarantee and defend. etc.", as always with these fragile documents expect usual amount of small flaws/faults, Fine appearing, great Gold mining document.
