Balance of the "Gauss" collection of Zeppelin covers, Collection of several hundred covers in cover albums and on auction lot cards. Includes a high percentage of German covers but also some unusual foreign treaty acceptances from European countries. The first years start with some nice pieces from the America Flights 1924 and 1929 and the Orient Flight followed by drop mail and mail from short local or European flights. Lots of this mail was written on board the airship by crew members or passengers and is addressed to Alexander Berezowki in Görlitz. The 1930 Pan-America Flight is well represented as well as the following Germany flight. 1931 brings Zeppelin mail from Egypt, Hungary, Liechtenstein and of course from the Polar Flight and the subsequent commercial South America Flights with some foreign acceptances from Switzerland, Poland, Vatican, Gibraltar, Denmark or Dutch East Indies. South American mail is also well represented with some interesting Paraguayan dispatches. The collection finishes with dropped leaflets from 1938 and signed postcards from the Zeppelin commanders Eckener and Pruss, as well as a nice selection of Zeppelin collateral including a couple of Hindenburg Menus, some baggage claim checks and several vintage picture postcards.
