Treasury Dept., 1873, 6¢ brown (O75), tied, with 3¢ green (158) and two 2¢ vermilion (178), by blue segmented cork cancels and by faint matching Providence, R.I. c.d.s. on registered cover to a local Providence address, manuscript "R. Oct 31, 1877, W.A.D. U.S. Com (?)" and violet "Reg. No 99"; sealed opening tears at left, 1¢ overpayment of the 2¢ local rate plus 10¢ for registration.

The sender was not worried about the 1¢ overpayment because the 6¢ Treasury (and perhaps the 3¢ green) was fraudulently reused, showing a clear black target cancel under the blue cork.
