1847, 5¢ dark brown (1a), large margins to barely touching at bottom left, pen cancelled and tied by field of tiny diamonds cancel in blue, on embossed lady's envelope to Wilbraham, Mass., blue "PAID" handstamp and matching faint strike of "Amherst, Mass. Feb. 25" c.d.s., stamp with superb impression and early dark color, most likely an 1848 usage; cover lightly cleaned, Very Fine and rare.
