1898 (24 June) envelope to Bordeaux (1.8), showing "Tientsin" double-ring origin datestamp in blue with "Customs" removed, "Shanghai" dollar chop applied in transit (on reverse) and bearing 5pf bluish green (Michel V46c), eight examples, cancelled by "Shanghai" c.d.s., "Ligne N/Paq. Fr. No. 9" octagonal datestamp (28.6), minor tones, nevertheless Very Fine double rate franking and scarce origin with this provisionally adapted Customs period dater.
