1867, 3¢ rose, C. grill, grill points down (83 var.), strong grill points clearly showing the variety, well centered with large margins, bright color, original gum. Trivial pulled perf at bottom right. Still Very Fine and rare.

The C. Grill with points down variety was caused when the sheet was laid down with the gummed side facing the depressions in the grill.
