1917, 5¢ rose error (505), the left stamp in a fine horizontal pair, rich color, tied by "Salem/Oct 18-17/Oregon" machine cancel on locally addressed envelope, cover with vertical file fold. Very Fine. A rare usage of a combination pair apparently paying double the 2¢ domestic letter rate.
