1938-39 Private Submarine Mail/Airmail surcharge, 45¢ +2p Defenders of Madrid overprinted "Correo Submarine 15 Pts./Correo Aereo 5 Pts.", five varieties: full souvenir sheet with control no. 020-25820; small souvenir sheet with 10-12mm margins overprinted "Muestra"; single stamp with normal overprint; same overprinted "Muestra"; and single stamp with inverted overprint; all original gum, never hinged, Very Fine, each handstamped small 5-point star on reverse. A rare group.
