1864 Blockade cover to Liverpool, England via Nassau, Bahamas, unfranked with "2/-", "1/10" and "2" manuscript ratings, postmarked red "Nassau, Paid, A Fe 11, 64" c.d.s., includes 4-page cross-written letter datelined Sommerville [N.C.], Jan. 28 1863 [in error]; cover professionally restored with most of back added, letter, which asks and tells about family and friends but doesn't mention the war directly, is split along one fold. Rare.
