"Charleston, Oct. 28*", mostly bold straight line handstamp on 1793 folded cover to Philadelphia with red manuscript "25" rate (faded), forwarded to Edenton (N.C., N.Y. or Ohio) with ms "forwd" and "22/47", somewhat aged, Fine and scarce early example of forwarded mail, 22¢ was the rate for a distance of 350-450 miles, 25¢ for over 450 miles.
