1847, 5¢ dark brown (1a), three large margins, close to just clear at bottom, striking dark shade approaching blackish brown, early impression, tied by blue grid, matching "Middlebury Vt. Oct. 8" c.d.s. on 1847 folded letter to Proctorsville; stamp with very trivial faint stain at bottom, still handsome and Very Fine, very early usage from Vermont.
