1900 (Sep. 22) "San Luis D'Apra, Guam", type 1.7 circular postmark with separate datestamp tying two pairs and a single of 2¢ red (1) on cover to Washington, D.C., San Francisco (10.20) and Washington, D.C. (10.24) backstamps, manuscript "U.S.S. Yomesite / Guam" corner card, extra gum around perfs, Very Fine usage, exceedingly scarce postmark. Estimate 500 - 750
This is the second type of postmark that appears to have been used on board the 'Yomesite' while at San Luis d'Apra Harbor. The type 1.6 postmark is recorded as last used on July 11. The type 1.7 starting use on July 15 most likely as a replacement for cancelling mail that originated on board the 'Yomesite'.
