1916 (Oct. 13) Experimental Aeroplane Mail Flight, Ithaca, N.Y. (AAMC 96), 1¢ postal card cancelled Ithaca machine cancel Oct. 16, blue boxed flight cachet at left; minor corner bends, Very Fine and rare. AAMC $3,000.
Mail was flown on October 14 but the mailing was dropped off course and landed in a nearby woods. It was not found until two days later when it was cacheted and postmarked.
