Addressed to Capt. George Little as the Confederate States Central Laboratory in Macon, Ga. This laboratory-factor complex was responsible for C.S.A. ordnance production and testing. A dispute as to the ownership of the land on which laboratory sat after the war, led to a Supreme Court decision (Titys v. United States) that recognized the existence of the Confederate states.
