Eight Star Waving Flag (Dietz F8-7), red, white and blue design, bearing U.S. 3¢ dull red (26) tied by grid cancellation with matching "Athens Ga. May 25" c.d.s. on cover to Thomasville, Ga.; stars in flag outlined in ink, Very Fine. The eight-star Confederate flag designs are some of the rarer styles, there being only eight Confederate States from May 7 to May 17.
