1847, 5¢ dark brown (1a), ample to huge margins including bit of adjacent stamp at bottom, very fine impression, cancelled by brown red pen cancels on ca. 1848 folded letter to Boston with blue "Saratoga Springs N.Y. Sep 8" c.d.s. struck over red "Union Hall/ Saratoga/ Springs" in small double line oval; stamp with crease prior to use, lifted to confirm it originated and hinged in place, Fine and rare.
