1852, 1¢ blue, type IV (9), three singles, each with ample to large margins and each in a different shade, tied by two strikes of large "Paid" in grid on cover to Maine, red "Boston Mass. 31 May" c.d.s.; Extremely Fine, a remarkable 1¢ 1851 usage, probably the result of someone cleaning out his desk, though the fact that each is a type IV with complete margins is miraculous.
