1856, 5¢ red brown (12), three large margins and just clear projection at left, tied by "New Orleans La. Jan. 26, 1857" c.d.s. on folded cover to Genoa, Italy, red "New York (Br. Pkt.) Feb 4"exchange postmark and black boxed "GB/ 1F 60c" accountancy mark, blue merchant's oval at bottom, manuscript due at center, red Genoa receiver on reverse; cover lightly cleaned, Very Fine usage during "the three month period" [see lot 371].
