1859, 10¢ green, type V (35), horizontal strip of five and pair, tied by "San Francisco Cal. Dec. 28, 1860" c.d.s. struck four times on reverse of cover to Locarno, Switzerland, paying double the Prussian closed mail rate, c.d.s. repeated on face along with red Aachen Franco datestamp and manuscript due and credit markings, red New York Am. Pkt. postmark and Swiss transits on stamp side, pair with corner clipped (pre-application) at top right, still very attractive, Fine and scarce usage.
