1875, 2¢ vermilion, imperforate (178 var.), full top plate "161" and imprint block of twelve, deep vibrant color on bright paper. Unused. Some typical creasing and skillfully repaired margin tear, a stunning plate block.

Continental plate 161 was used for the several different special printings that included the 1875 Special Printing, the 1873 double paper variety, and the 1875 imperforate. The other recorded 2¢ vermilion imperforate plate block is from the bottom of the pane (Ex-Wampler, Chapin).
