1901, Pan-Americans complete, large die proofs (294P1-299P1), complete set, die sunk on approximately 194mm x 145mm cards with gilt edge from a presentation album, each with blue control number on reverse, none of the often found toning, a bright fresh and choice set, Very Fine Accompanied by a letter from third Assistant Postmaster General to Mr. John R. Hill (an engraver at the BEP for over 30 years) explaining why the Bureau will not be able to provide more sets of proofs.
