German East Africa Cuba, 1877 cover to Schonbach (11.2), bearing Cuba 50c. uncanelled, framed "Aus Westindien/über Newyork" handstamp, "New York, Jan. 27" transit c.d.s., handstruck "10" in blue (crossed out) for the Cuba-New York portion, and circular "T" handstamp and crayon "50" rating (50pf = 12cents, 2c for U.S.A. and 2 x 5c German double rate), carried on the "City of Vera Cruz" to New York and then on the "America" to Bremen, Cuba stamp not recognized since it did not become a member of the U.P.U. until May 1, 1877, Very Fine and rare.
