Great Britain, 1840, Queen Victoria First Issue, 1d intense black (1a) (1a), plate 5, FC, three large margins cut just in at top, lightly tied by a red Maltese Cross on a folded letter from Kirlwall to Edinburgh, Nov 25-29 (both postmarks on reverse), 1840; small repaired tear on the back, F-VF. The letter concerns the arrest of a debtor, one Lord Tetland.
