Canada, Green Money Letter Wrapper-Receipt from Hamilton to Scotland, mailed from Hamilton, C.W. to the postmaster at Rosemarkee by Fortrose, Rosskeen, Scotland, postmarked red Hamilton broken circle, March 26, 1851, and red straight line "PAID" with red manuscript rate "2/4" (sterling) and "2/7½" (currency), backstamped Montreal March 31, Liverpool April 21, and Fortrose April 23 because Canadian money letters were treated as registered mail in the U.L. the wrapper was marked with a manuscript "6"(d) due upon arrival in Liverpool; a few sealed edge tears but otherwise Very Fine, exceedingly rare and in all probability unique.

The wrapper contained a Money Letter for a Miss M. Fordon care of a Mr. A. MacDonald, Avoch; inside the wrapper the postmaster at Fortrose has twice more stuck his April 23 datestamp. Finally, on April 24th, the postmaster at Avoch filled in the receipt form printed on the inside of the wrapper, applied his undated postmark twice, and had Mr. Alexander sign for the money letter which he presumably delivered to Miss Gordon.
