Canada, Earliest Recorded Money Letter, folded letter postmarked on back red straight line "CORNWALL" with manuscript date "15 April" (1825), on front is manuscript "Money Letter" and red manuscript "1N10" rate, fresh and Very Fine.

The letter enclosed £4 duty owed by the office at Cornwall to the Received General in York. The basic rate of 11d Canadian for 201-200 miles, was doubled to 22d or 1sh 10d due to the enclosure.
