Canada, 1851, 6d slate violet, laid paper (2), large margins to barely touched at upper right, tied by manuscript "X" on folded letter from West Brome, L.C. to Burlington, Vt., originally handstamped large "6" due which was scratched out when the stamp was applied, postmarked red West Brome broken circle, March 2 (1853) with manuscript day (and "T" of "WEST" strengthened) and red manuscript "Money Letter", backstamped weak strike Brome broken circle with manuscript date "2d/Mar/53", and red St. Johns, C.E. Mar 4; repaired tear at top, Fine and unusual.
