Canada, 1859, 17¢ blue, two singles (19), tied by large circular grids, along with a pair and a single 1¢ rose (14) and a 5¢ vermilion (15), on blue cover from Montreal to Edinburgh, Scotland, postmarked Montreal broken circle, Oct 29, 1866, and three strikes red straight line "REGISTERED", British red crowned "REGISTERED", backstamped Edinburgh Nov 10; stamps are poorly centered with minor perf toning, one 1¢ has a small stain and may have been fraudulently reused by the sender, and a small piece of the flap is missing, still a Fine and unique franking and the only known double rate cover with both the postage and the registry fee prepaid with stamps: 2 x 17¢ by British packet plus 8¢ for registration.
