Jamaica, 1849 (Dec. 7) OHMS printed folded letter used locally in Kingston, giving notification of a foreign letter addressed to the Chilean Consul in Havana requiring postage of 4/- before it can be forwarded, showing "On Post Office/ Business/ Free" circular handstamp in red and on reverse "Kingston Jamaica" double arc d.s., Very Fine example of the detained letter system introduced in the West Indies for transiting mail.
