Canada, 1888, 3¢ bright vermilion (41), tied by segmented cork cancels, along with a 2¢ registration stamp #F1, on registered cover from Thamesville, Ont. to Winameg, Ohio, postmarked Thamesville c.d.s., April 30, 1888 and "R" in oval, backstamped London & Windsor Ry. P.O. and Windsor c.d.s.s, also on the 30th, and red straight line Detroit, Mich. May 1, ink stain at lower right, Very Fine and rare last day of rate cover.

The "anomalous" 2¢ registration fee was in use for only two months, from March 1 to April 30, 1888. The rate was enacted in error. Few covers carried the rate and even fewer have survived.
