1856, 5¢ red brown (12), horizontal strip of 3. Ample margins except touched in bottom projection of right stamp, rich color on bright white paper, canceled by two strikes of Wellsboro Pa. postmarks; left stamp with thin speck entirely in margin at top edge (above projection) and which can be trimmed, Very Fine, this strip came from a five-times rate domestic cover owned by Henry Gibson (from the famous Ward sale, where it brought $400) and at later date was made into an attractive on-piece strip (which accompanies).
