The 3¢ 1869 re-issue is the most difficult value of the set to locate truly well centered. After reviewing the many hundreds of examples submitted to the Philatelic Foundation, we found no more than three or four with centering similar to the above example. Given the added qualities of excellent color and freshness, this is arguably the finest mint single in existence.
