1912, 1¢ green, imperf (408), two horizontal pairs, paying double the domestic rate, tied on cover from Washington, D.C. to Syracuse, N.Y. by partial strikes of a Washington duplex cancel dated March 27, 1912, the Earliest Documented Use of this stamp, the the month and day are clearly visible on one of the strikes of the canceller and the year on another.
