New York, N.Y., 1845, 5¢ black on bluish (9X1a), ample to large margins including. part of adjoining stamp at top, tied by blue manuscript. "X" on undated folded cover to Lockport, N.Y. red "New-York 10cts 2 Aug." and matching "Paid", beneath this was a penci l "10" which was erased but still reads clearly, and indicating the balance was paid in cash; without side flaps, Very Fine.
